Alternative to electric vehicles, hybrid
COMPANY Second Otomobil Sdn Bhd (Perodua) has introduced a prototype model, which uses Bezza green engine being developed for use in vehicle output in the near future.
Managing director Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh, said the design is fully developed bentukBezza PERODUA staff while green engine developed under the Green Engine Development Master Plan of the company in collaboration with Daihatsu Motor Corporation, Japan.He said the Green Engine Development Master Plan is still in the first phase, aims to produce engines that use Liquid Fuel System Free Precious Metals (PMLFC) is the first of its kind in Malaysia.PMLFC system does not use petrol or diesel as fuel, instead of alternative fuels that do not contain precious metals, making it more environmentally friendly and economical.
PERODUA believes the cost of producing electric or hybrid vehicle is very high and the price is too expensive.
We are developing other methods to produce environmentally friendly vehicles to ensure PERODUA also contribute to environmentally friendly technologies, he told reporters after the prototype was introduced at the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show (KLIMS) 2010 at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) today.
Aminar Rashid said, line the Green Engine Development Master Plan, the Perodua will apply for government to consider incentives to automotive companies capable of producing environmentally friendly vehicles in addition to electric or hybrid vehicles.He said that incentives not only encourage more automotive companies strive to produce environmentally friendly vehicles, but to draw such a compact car manufacturer Perodua to voluntarily develop such vehicles.
PERODUA compact vehicle manufacturers such as not focused on the development of electric vehicles or hybrid vehicles because we already save in terms of fuel consumption. We also believe there is still room to increase the efficiency of our internal combustion engines, he said.
